Did you know that we have been in "business" for nearly twenty seven months and during that time we have fed over TWO MILLION people with food prepared by you, at Kids Against Hunger Sioux Falls. Know one thing, we could not have done it without you!
We have done it in many ways. Sometimes our packs are small and only involve a few hundred meals. Other times they are huge, involving over 123,000 meals in two days.
We have delivered 800,000 meals to the devistated nation of Haiti and we will continue to support them. The Backpack program in the Sioux Falls Schools has distributed over 60,000 meals. The Friday Night Food Giveaway continues to supply the hungry in Sioux Falls. In only a few days we will help Holy Spirit Catholic Church send a container with 125,000 meals to Zambia to their missionary there.
It is easy to concentrate on numbers. That's how we measure success in the United States. But sometimes the real heartwarming examples of our work are the most memorable. For instance, a local women who is trying to adopt two orphans in Ghana packed her suitcases with nearly 2,000 meals for the other 30 children at the orphanage. A women who has worked with migrant workers in Oklahoma took 100 of our packets to pass out at Thanksgiving as part of basket for the poor that she serves.
We measure our success by feeding one starving child a nutricious meal. Success involves a pregnant or nursing mother having a meal to strengthen her baby. We do this for less than a quarter. We measure success by your involvment.
We thank you for your continued work and support.
